About Newt Gingrich

Speaker Gingrich is widely recognized as a transformational leader, unparalleled in his ability to create and lead successful large-scale change in government, industry, and society.

The architect of the revolutionary Contract with America of 1994, Gingrich led Congress to pass transformational legislation including welfare reform, the first balanced budget in a generation, funding to strengthen our defense capabilities, and the first tax cuts in sixteen years. Since retiring from Congress, he has worked extensively on the issues of health and healthcare, devoting the majority of his time to advocating a transformation of the entire system. He recently founded The Center for Health Transformation, a unique collaboration of public and private entities dedicated to accelerating the adoption of transformational solutions, policies, and technologies to a 21st Century Health and Healthcare System.

In the book, Saving Lives & Saving Money: Transforming Health and Healthcare with co-authors Dana Pavey and Anne Woodbury, Gingrich identifies the principles of transformation necessary to create a 21st Century System of Health and Healthcare that will both save lives and save money. The authors present success stories of actual healthcare companies, organizations, and projects to offer both proof that a better system of health and healthcare is possible and an opportunity for others to adopt the transforming examples. In Saving Lives & Saving Money, Gingrich applies lessons learned during decades of work in defense transformation, his experience in public health policy as a member of Congress, years of research at the American Enterprise Institute where he is a senior fellow, and through consulting relationships with health related businesses at his firm, the Gingrich Group.

In his latest work, Winning the Future, Gingrich lays out the plan for America?s greatness, including how to win the war on terror, reestablish God in American public life, reform Social Security, restore patriotism, and make American health care the global standard for excellence and accessibility.
